Magician Mat Franco has been a fixture on the Las Vegas Strip for nearly seven years with his award-winning headlining show, MAT FRANCO – MAGIC REINVENTED NIGHTLY. Mat has been practicing – and mastering – the art of magic for more than 30 years. After years of performing for family and friends, as well as professionally, Mat’s magic career truly began to flourish as a student at the University of Rhode Island, where he toured the country extensively performing for colleges and universities.
It was during that time that Mat decided to audition for America’s Got Talent, where he impressed both the judges and viewers across the country with his fresh take on magic, eventually becoming first magician to win NBC’s No. 1 summer show in 2014.
Following his triumphant victory on America’s Got Talent, Mat went on to partner up with Fremantle Entertainment and NBC to create and star in his own two-hour magic television special titled Mat Franco’s Got Magic that aired on NBC on September 17 and December 19, 2015.
In August of 2015, Mat opened his own headlining Las Vegas show, MAT FRANCO – MAGIC REINVENTED NIGHTLY at The LINQ Hotel + Experience, As the show’s name implies, it truly is magic reinvented nightly, in that each night, the audience experiences an entirely different show from the night before. Mat aims to take his audience on a “shared adventure,” allowing him to execute his magic on a grand scale while maintaining the easy intimacy that’s long been central to his performances. What keeps the awards – and audiences – coming is the fact that Mat constantly works on his craft and keeps his show fresh with new material.
As a prominent member of the Las Vegas philanthropic community, Mat has been a supporter of many local nonprofit organizations benefiting animals. From 2016 through the present, Mat has hosted an annual pet supply drive for The Animal Foundation, raising more than $20,000 in animal care supplies and monetary gifts for Nevada’s largest open admission shelter. Additionally, in 2016, Mat won $20,000 for the NSPCA when he appeared on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire’s “Celebrity Week – Las Vegas.”
In 2017, Mat had the honor of unveiling his new namesake venue, the Mat Franco Theater at The LINQ Hotel + Experience, which was renamed by the center-Strip resort in celebration of his continued career success. Clark County Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick also presented Mat with a plaque proclaiming July 10, 2017 as “Mat Franco Day” on the Las Vegas Strip and throughout the county. Commissioner Kirkpatrick concluded the presentation by surprising Mat with his very own Key to The Strip, an honor bestowed upon The Strip’s top entertainers and public figures.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March 2020, Mat was one of the first entertainers to live stream performances on his Facebook page, continuing to perform for his fans when the world needed magic most. As Las Vegas reopened following the city’s shutdown, Mat organized a special performance for first responders and essential workers as his way of thanking them for their hard work and dedication. About the performances Mat said, “While Las Vegas was shut down, our first responders and essential workers were the ones who kept the city running, and I am so thankful for all the sacrifices they have made for us. When I found out I was able to reopen my show, I knew that I wanted to put on a performance for this special group of people as my personal way to honor them and say thank you.”
Marking its seventh anniversary in the summer of 2022, MAT FRANCO – MAGIC REINVENTED NIGHTLY has consistently been recognized by the Las Vegas Review-Journal’s Best of Las Vegas Awards, including being namedGold Winner for Best Production Show and the Mat Franco Theater was named Best Showroom / Live Venue.
